August 6, 2025

SUVA – The Public Service Commission (PSC), with the agreement of the Prime Minister, has announced changes to the leadership of the Ministry of Civil Service and the Ministry of Public Enterprises.

PSC Chairman Mr. Luke Rokovada, confirmed that Mr. Amenatave Yauvoli, who was appointed as Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service and Public Enterprises on 5 May 2025, has resigned from the role for personal reasons, effective 31 July 2025. It is understood that Mr. Yauvoli has accepted a senior executive position with the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) office in Suva.

“I thank Mr. Yauvoli for his dedicated service to the nation over the past decades and wish him well in his new role,” said Mr. Rokovada.

To ensure continuity in leadership, the following acting appointments have been made effective from 1 August 2025:

  • Mr. Pita Tagicakirewa, former Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs, Culture, Arts and Heritage, and currently Executive Director of the Fiji Learning Institute for Public Service (FLIPS), has been appointed Acting Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service.
  • Ms. Laisa Bolalevu, Director of Monitoring, Public Enterprises, has been appointed Acting Permanent Secretary for Public Enterprises.

Chairman Rokovada stated that these acting appointments are necessary to maintain stability in both Ministries, following recent changes in senior public service leadership resulting from the sudden resignation of Mr. Yauvoli and the recent passing of the late Mr. Parmesh Chand.
