Open Merit Recruitment and Selection Training with WAF

The Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) conducted a Selection Panel Readiness Training for the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) on Monday, 2 March, 2020.

The training is an integral component of the Open Merit Recruitment and Selection (OMRS) Guideline targeting potential selection panel members.

WAF has adopted OMRS to maintain an open, transparent and accountable recruitment and selection process. 

The training conducted by MCS Trainers, Mr. Suliasi Tokoni and Ms Vitalina Kirikiti has now certified 17 officers within WAF who hold senior leadership roles such as Team Leaders, Manager HR, Engineers, Senior Business Analyst, Senior Finance Officer and other supervisors in the Central Division offices.
The training would certainly address the challenges faced by WAF in appointing trained and certified interview panel members.

With the additional OMRS trained and certified officers, WAF will now be able to recruit the right person for the right position which will eventually assist improve their service delivery to all Fijians.

MCS in conjunction with WAF will extend this training to the regional operations based in the Western and Northern Divisions in future.
