June 4, 2024

SUVA - The Ministry of Civil Service is proud to launch the theme of the 2024 Civil Service Day celebration in recognising the unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions of Civil Servants over the years.

The theme: “Celebrating the Contributions of Civil Servants” recognises and honours the vital work carried out by Civil Servants across all levels of Government.

Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Service Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka said this theme will be amplified through a series of events and initiatives throughout the week of the celebration.

“The contributions of Civil Servants deserve to be celebrated because they play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and effectiveness of our government institutions. From teaching our children, safeguarding public health and ensuring our safety in our various villages and communities, their work impacts every aspect of our daily lives,” Prime Minister Rabuka said.

“This celebration is an opportunity to recognise their contributions and express our gratitude for their unwavering commitment to nation building.”

Permanent Secretary for Civil Service Mr. Parmesh Chand revealed that the week of the celebration will be marked with various activities including a careers-expo, tree-planting activities, clean-up campaign, public lecture and roc market.

“Civil servants are the backbone of our society, working diligently to ensure that essential services are delivered efficiently and effectively,” Mr. Chand said.

“Their hard work often goes unnoticed, but their impact is felt by every citizen, every day and I am incredibly proud of the dedication and professionalism displayed by our Civil Servants.”

This year’s Civil Service Day will be celebrated in the capital city and in other major centers around the country on Friday July 5th.
