The Public Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Ms.Sanjana Lal as the Acting Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry in agreement with the Prime Minister Hon.Sitiveni Rabuka.
Ms Lal replaces the
former Acting PS Mr.Rovereto Nayacalevu who resigned from his post last month
and has joined the Fiji Rugby Union as Chief Executive Officer this week.
PSC Chairman Mr.Luke
Rokovada stated that Ms.Lal has worked for almost 30 years in the Civil Service
and has been Conservator of Forests since March 2017.
“She has the
qualifications, knowledge and experience to assume the role and I am confident
that she will be able to perform the duties required of her as the Acting
Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry,” Mr.Rokovada said.
Ms.Lal graduated with
a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry from the Australian National University and
also holds a Postgraduate Degree in Science.
Mr.Rokovada
congratulates and wishes Ms.Lal well in her new role as Acting Permanent
Secretary.
The PSC Chairman also
acknowledges Mr.Nayacalevu for his service and wishes him well in his role as
FRU’s CEO.
