MCS DISCUSSES TRAINING FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS IN CHINA

SUVA – The Ministry of Civil Service (MCS) welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Commerce and the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) from the Chinese Government in Suva this morning.

AIBO coordinates and supervises all China-Aid Training programs implemented by the Department of China-aid Training.

Permanent Secretary Mr.Parmesh Chand while welcoming the delegation acknowledged the Chinese Government for this initiative that has benefitted thousands of civil servants throughout the years.

“This year alone, over 100 of our civil servants from Fiji travelled to China to participate in selected training programs, and I am confident that they returned empowered to implement what they have learned,” said Chand.

The Permanent Secretary stated that the AIBO Delegation’s visit to Fiji has further strengthened the relationship between the two countries in areas of training and human resource capacity building.

“The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, share knowledge and explore opportunities to advance our mutual goals.”

Civil Servants who benefitted from AIBO trainings were also part of the meeting and shared their experience on how the program has enhanced their professional development.
