The Public Service Commission with the agreement of the Prime Minister, has announced the appointment of Mr. Paula Cirikiyasawa as incoming Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, effective from 30 September 2024.
Cirikiyasawa succeeds Dr Raijeli Taga who is moving to a new role after four years of dedicated service as Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources.
Cirikiyasawa brings over two decades of professional work experience having previously served in the Ministry of Commerce, Business Development and Investment, National Planning Office serving in various senior roles before joining UNDP.
He has been working with UNDP since 2018 utilising his skills to contribute to global development endeavors.
The Commission is thrilled to welcome Paula Cirikiyasawa as the latest appointee as Permanent Secretary said Chairman, Luke Rokovada.
His proven track record of leadership, innovation and strategic vision makes him the ideal person to lead the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources.
As Permanent Secretary, Cirikiyasawa will be responsible for overseeing the Ministry’s strategic direction and operations with a focus on innovation, expansion and sustainability. He is excited to bring his expertise to the Ministry and is committed to driving continued growth and success.
Paula Cirikiyasawa has a Masters qualification in International Relations & Diplomacy and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Political Science. Meanwhile, Dr Raijeli Taga will remain with the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources and take up her new role in the middle of October 2024.
