The Public Service Commission (Commission) with the agreement of the Prime Minister, announces that Ms Selina Kuruleca, Permanent Secretary for Education, has been reassigned as Permanent Secretary for Justice effective 28 October 2024.
Ratu Meli Nacuva will simultaneously assume the role of Acting Permanent Secretary for Education while holding the role of Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports.
The Chairman Public Service Commission, Luke Rokovada thanked Ms Kuruleca for maintaining the high standards of education by focusing on improving quality and equity in education.
The Commission believes this new assignment will further leverage her skills and experience.
Mr Meli Nacuva brings extensive experience in public administration, education policy and training and development which will be crucial in continuing the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of education for all citizens.
The Commission is committed to a smooth transition to ensure the Ministry of Education remains focused on its mission of improving education outcomes.
An appointment of Acting Permanent Secretary Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry to replace the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Mr Yogesh Karan will be announced soon.
The Commission takes this opportunity also to clarify that the appointment of Mr. Pita Wise earlier announced as Head of Mission in Japan is now withdrawn.
